On February 23, 2023 at 12:23 pm, I said goodbye to my partner in crime (literally:). Ahhhh, I so loved Ali.

When I needed it most, he would mosey to my room and lumber up on my bed, one paw at a time. He would turn around a few times, promptly lay down horizontally or diagonally (note, not vertical so that we could "share" the bed) and start snoring. You see, at 110lbs, the dog took up some SPACE.

He was a lover of children and children loved him.

He was an escape artist. He would gingerly and nonchalantly walk toward the corner of a building. The second he was out of my eye-sight, he would take off on a sprint. I mean, to be real, sometimes he did not even wait to get out of my eyesight.

He had a rap across sheet-multiple jurisdictions, and a lawyer. Nothing criminal or aggressive, he just felt the world should contain no boundaries. The Boulder County park rangers, Police Department, County Judges, and Humane Society felt differently.

Then, there was his job. . .livestock guardian. Officially, he protected goats and chickens. But he never really got the memo. He LOVED his couches.

However, he did have enough wildlife adventures to fill a Mutual of Omaha reel: mountain lions; rattlesnake (yes a bite); porcupine (yes, a quill); bobcats; coyotes; bears; skunk (yes, a spray). . .

At the end of the day, he shepherded me through some of my hardest, darkest, and lowest times. He was my comfort and anchor. I am leaning on my amazing friends and family, but boy, do I miss him!!!

Give a hug to your furry friend, let them up on the couch or give them the treat they want. Ali and I are sending our love.
